Record finalist at awards

The Comox Valley Record finished third in our best front page circulation category among awards presented by the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA).

The Comox Valley Record finished third in our best front page circulation category among awards presented by the Canadian Community Newspaper Association (CCNA).The page showcased a story by Erin Haluschak about Canadian blues musician Rita Chiarelli producing a tribute album to murdered 25-year-old Hornby Island woman TemPest Grace Gale.The Record also earned a CCNA Blue Ribbon, which is given in the general excellence category to any paper in the national competition that deserves recognition for excellence, as determined by general excellence judges.

CCNA awards were presented Friday in Richmond.
