A fundraiser Jan. 29 will benefit a dedicated contributor to the Comox Valley theatre scene who is dealing with a cancer diagnosis.

Kymme Patrick is well-known in the Comox Valley, organizers of a benefit party say in a news release.

“She’s a generous contributor to our rich community theatrical life. Many of you have been touched by her direction and talent through her company TheatreWorks, or her past involvement in other venues such as Courtenay Little Theatre and Rainbow Youth Theatre,” the release states.

In recent years, Patrick has become part of a lively dancing (ballroom and Latin) community.

The fundraiser happens Jan. 29 from 7 to 11 p.m. in the Upper Legion Hall at 367 Cliffe Ave. in Courtenay.

This is a fun-filled fundraising event featuring an evening of food, dancing, silent auction, and a “variety of entertainments.” Admission is by donation. All proceeds support Patrick in her  ”trunks up” attitude towards her recent diagnosis of cancer.

As she works and plays with all ages, this is an an all-ages family-and-friends event of dancing, eating and entertainment.

You can help by:

• Making a donation at the door and/or bringing cash or cheque for silent auction treasures;

• Making a contribution to the silent auction (drop off at 481 Holly Pl. in Comox or at the Comox Valley Record at 765 McPhee Ave. in Courtenay. Contact Cheryl Taylor at 250-339-4420 for more information.)
