A leak has forced the City to shut down one of its most popular summer attractions, at least for a couple of days.

The Lewis Park Water Park will be closed until at least Thursday, while a repair crew rectifies an issue.

This, from the City of Courtenay: "We have recently discovered a substantial leak in the pipe that services the Lewis Water Park.  This requires that the water be shut off until repairs can be made.  At this point, we are unsure of the exact location of the damage, or the extent of work required to repair.  We will be requesting an emergency BC One ticket and attending first thing Wednesday morning. The Water Park will be closed until at least Thursday morning (July 24), possibly longer."

The forecast has rain for the next two days, so the timing is good.
