The Tour de Rock team poses for s shot after a successful training ride up Mount Washington

On Sunday July 13, in 32+ degree heat the Tour de Rock team ( all the members from Victoria to Port Hardy) met at the bottom of Mt. Washington and started the long ride up for training. Everyone made it to the top with a couple of water stops along the way thanks to the support crew (Jan and Katie) from the Victoria office of Canadian Cancer Society. Mt. Washington staff learned of the training run and had ice cold water and Gatorade waiting for the team. The Mt. has also donated a six-pack lift ticket package to be auctioned off on Aug. 9 at Coastal Black Winery Tour de Rock event ( outdoor movie night ). The team is back training Tuesday but will take Thursday off to go to Camp Goodtimes outside of Vancouver to visit some of the recipients of the funds raised.
