The town of Comox is inviting community members to an open house on the upcoming Official Community Plan update on June 24.

Staff will be on site to provide information about the Zoning Bylaw and Subdivision and Servicing Bylaw.

The OCP update process commenced in fall 2024 with a background review and an online survey, supplemented by several community pop-up events. Interest holders focus group meetings were held in April 2025 to gain input on specific policy areas. A “What We Learned” report and focus group event summary can be found on the project webpage, providing additional detail on the community input received from these events.  updates that are also underway.

The Town is currently wrapping up “Phase 4: Plan Development” of the OCP update process, which is focused on draft policy development. The upcoming open house allows community members to provide their perspectives on OCP policy and mapping.

The open house will be held on Tuesday, June 24, at the Comox Community Centre (1855 Noel Ave.) from 3:30 pm to 7 pm. There are no formal sessions planned, but everyone is invited to drop by anytime between 3:30 pm and 7 pm at the Community Centre Multi-Purpose Room.

The community input from this open house will be used to inform the draft OCP, Zoning Bylaw, and SDS Bylaw prior to Council considering bylaw readings. The OCP draft plan will be available later this summer.
