Comox Valley made a bust that turned up drugs, cash and cell phones at a local hotel earlier this week.

The Comox Valley RCMP Street Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at the hotel room in the 1800 block of Cliffe Avenue on Dec. 16. The warrant was related to an active investigation into suspected drug trafficking at the location.

Police found and seized cash, cell phones and what is believed to be fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine and prescription drugs. They did not provide any details as to the quantity or street value of the drugs seized.

“This seizure will impact the flow of illegal drugs in our community,” said Cst. Monika Terragni, Comox Valley RCMP. “The Comox Valley RCMP Street Crimes Unit will continue to target properties and individuals in our community who are associated to any illegal activity.”

A 52-year-old Courtenay woman and a 34-year-old Courtenay woman were arrested and have since been released from police custody. All the circumstances of the investigation will be forwarded to the Public Prosecution Service of Canada (PPSC) for their assessment of charges.
