Two hurt in violent Cumberland home invasion

Comox Valley RCMP are investigating a violent home invasion that occurred on Allen Avenue in Cumberland early this morning around 2:48.

A neighbour called the police when a badly beaten male banged on their door, covered in blood.

When police arrived and checked the area, they found a back door to a residence that had been forced open. Inside, they found another injured male, who had also been assaulted.

It is believed that there are two and possibly three suspects with the following descriptions:

• Caucasian male, six feet, 170 pounds, wearing a red or rusty coloured bandana on his head, blue windbreaker and blue jeans;

• Caucasian male, five feet seven inches, stocky build, baggy clothing and gray jacket, possibly missing two bottom front teeth.

There is no description of a third suspect.

The suspects assaulted the victims and demanded money.

One victim was transported to hospital and the other declined. Both victims are known to police and this is not believed to be a random attack.

The Comox Valley RCMP's General Investigation Unit is working on this file.
