The annual Day of Mourning BC will be held virtually this year.

A moment of silence will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 28 to remember the 140 B.C. workers who died last year from a workplace injury or disease. There were 56 fatalities due to traumatic injury and 84 fatalities due to occupational disease.

Messages from partners will be posted, along with a video to recognize the day.

Go to dayofmourning.bc.ca for more information.

The City of Courtenay normally holds a Day of Mourning ceremony at Simms Park.
