Wind disrupting ferry sailings

High wind is affecting BC Ferries sailings up and down Vancouver Island.

High wind is affecting BC Ferries sailings up and down Vancouver Island.

An intense Pacific weather system over Vancouver Island is producing strong southeast winds of up to 90 km/h over exposed coastal sections of East Vancouver Island the Sunshine Coast as well as the Gulf Islands and  portions of Greater Victoria.

These winds are expected to ease by mid-afternoon as the system weakens and moves into the Interior, says Environment Canada.
