March 8, 1923 – May 10, 2016
Born in Holland, Albertus met and married Teena on May 29, 1949 and emigrated to Canada in 1954. He worked for C.N. Railway in Manitoba for about 30 years and came to B.C. in 1988, then to the Comox Valley in 1994.
Albertus was predeceased by his brother Dirk in 2000 and his wife Teena in 2006.
He is survived by and will be missed by his loving children Dirk (Adriana), Albert (Stella), Tina Boon (Pete), John and Ed; grandchildren Vince, Steve, Chris, Kevin, Jason, Chad, Justin, Michael, Ryder and Wyatt as well as eighteen great grandchildren.
A memorial service in celebration of his life took place on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Comox Valley Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre, Courtenay with the Reverend Jenn Geddes officiating.
