Alex passed away peacefully on Tuesday July 17th 2012 at home with his granddaughter by his side. He was 91 years of age. He is survived by his wife Betty, son Alexander, brother Jim(Helen), sister Isabelle Walsh(David), 1 granddaughter and 4 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by special friend Muriel Davidson. Alex was a retired major in the Canadian Armed Forces. He was an avid runner, skiier, cyclist, hunter, skeet shooter, and enjoyed spending his time at the Courtenay Rod and Gun Club. He was also an amateur radio operator VE7RG. He led a very active life and made many good friends and was always willing to lend a hand to help anyone, and give good advice. We will all miss his smile and that twinkle in his eye. There will be no service by his request.
So grieve a while for me, if grieve you must,
Then let your grief be comforted by trust,
It's only for a while that we must part,
So bless the memories within your heart.
