Alfons Ditsche

Ditsche - Alfons Ditsche, born May 3rd, 1931, passed away January 6th, 2002 at the age of 70. He was predeceased by his parents; a sister and one brother. Alfons will be greatly missed by his loving wife Charlotte; stepsons Kurt, Marcos and their families; godchildren Anne, Kathy and family and is also survived by one brother Heinrich; sisters Antonia, Anna Maria, Maria, Lucia and Ceilia, all of Germany. He will be missed as well by numerous nephews, nieces and life-long friends. Alfons was born in Friedvalde, Schlesia and came to Canada in 1951 and spent many working years in the mining industry, which included mines in Sudbury, Yellowknife and several on Vancouver Island. In 1971, Alfons worked for Tahsis Logging until his medical disabilities in 1985 and his retirement in 1991. In between, he ventured for 2 years, roaming the Southseas, touring Australia and New Zealand. He loved his farm, working on jigsaw puzzles and coffee klatching with friends. This always pleasant and gentle man will be missed by all. A Celebration of Alfons’ Life will take place on Friday, January 11th at 1:00 p.m. from the CHAPEL of COMOX VALLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 1101 RYAN ROAD, followed by fellowship and refreshments in the “Garden Room” of the funeral home. Flowers gratefully declined in consideration of donations in his memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, PO Box 1225, Comox, B.C. V9N 7Z8, or the charity of one’s choice for those wishing.
