September 18, 1931- April 24, 2015

It is with great sadness that the family of Alfred Knopp announces his passing at the age of 83 years. Alfred was predeceased by his parents, Gustuv and Ernstine; brothers: Sam, Reinhard, Gustuv; sister-in-law Mary; brother-in-law Louise. He will be remembered by his brothers Jakob (Emma), Herman (Jean); sisters Ernstine, Rose, and sister-in-law Frankie. He will also be deeply missed by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Alfred was born in Alexandrowka Poland, he was the fourth son of Gustuv and Ernstine, and in 1950 they immigrated to Canada where the family settled in Cloverdale, BC. They farmed there until 1960 when they purchased a dairy farm in Dove Creek Comox Valley. Alfred and two of his brothers farmed till the early 80’s when they sold the dairy cows and began beef farming. Shortly after they completely retired and moved into town.

The family would like to thank Dr. Woldnik and the nurses and staff at Cumberland Lodge, for Alfred’s care for the past 8 years.

In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be accepted.
