On Thursday, 18 July 2019, Alice Doreen Mason, loving wife and mother of three children, passed away at age 96. Alice was born on 7 June, 1923 in Innisfail, AB. Alice had a passion for gardening. She also loved to bake bread, and enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. She was known for her quick wit, her sense of humour, and her kind and compassionate spirit.
Alice was preceded in death by her father Edwin Boyd, her mother Tena Boyd, her sister Nora Hutchings (Boyd), her sister Dorothy Wiebe (Boyd), her sister Ellen Groen (Boyd) and her daughter Linda Peppiatt (Soderberg). She is survived by her husband Donald Mason, her sister Elsie Krasman (Boyd), her brother Charlie Boyd, her sons and their wives; Chauncey & Nancy Soderberg and Carlisle & Richelle Mason, grandchildren Susan Peppiatt, Kendra Soderberg, Kale Soderberg, Dane Soderberg, Chadwick Mason, and Veronica Mason and seven Great-GrandChildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. As per Alice's wishes there will be no funeral service and her remains will be placed in the scattering garden with a memorial plaque at Courtenay Civic Cemetery, Courtenay BC.
