BJARNASON

Allan Sigurdur

February 14th, 1951 - October 19th, 2008

Allan passed away peacefully at home on October 19th, 2008 with his loving family by his side.

He was predeceased by his parents Martin and Dorothy Bjarnason of Vancouver, B.C. and is survived by his wife Janet (Klatt) and children Dana (Stephen) and Carl, sisters Elinor and Peter Byers, Margret and John Montgomery, brothers Norman Bjarnason and John and Mendo Bjarnason, and also fondly remembered by many family and friends.

Allan grew up in Marpole, Vancouver and in 1980 moved to Courtenay with his new wife Janet, where they built their home and hobby farm. He worked as a carpenter and spent many years happily involved in raising and nurturing his two children. He was very involved in his community, volunteering at his children’s schools, serving in his church, and coaching youth soccer. He also spent many happy hours restoring his classic motorcycles.

The Bjarnason family is grateful to the staff at St.Joseph’s Hospital, St. Paul’s Hospital, Dr. David Musgrave, and to family and friends for their comfort and support.

Allan was very loving, generous, and a friend to everyone. We will miss his ‘million dollar smile’.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Diabetic Association and the Kidney Foundation.

Service will be held at the Comox United Church, 250 Beach St., Saturday, October 25th at 1:00 p.m.
