In loving memory ~
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the very sudden passing of our treasured wife, Mom and Grandma, Anita Buxton, in the wee hours of August 4, 2022.
She was the best friend and love of our Dad's life. Simply put, he is heart-broken. They were together since the age of 16, separating for a few years after high school only to be reunited and married in 1965. Mom and Dad began their life together in the Queen Charlotte Islands, arriving by freighter on a brisk January morning. There they spent many wonderful years and welcomed 3 children along the way. Eventually Dad was transferred out of the Charlottes and the family moved to Port McNeill and then to the Comox Valley where they made their home for 38 years. Mom and Dad had just downsized and moved into Mom's dream home in Campbell River.
She was fiercely protective and devoted to her family. Her grandchildren meant the world to her and she was so proud of each and every one of them. She always had a listening ear, an open heart and a bowl full of "Grandma's Soup" ready for them. Words cannot describe how much we will all miss her.
She was survived by her loving husband of almost 57 years, Ken, three children, Tracey, Julie (Scott) and Kevin (Luz), grandchildren, Cheyenne, Jonathan, Makenna, Kieran, Cameron and Carson and so many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Your light will live forever in our hearts until we meet again.
"you are my sunshine,
my only sunshine"
A celebration of life will be held at Mom and Dad's house in Campbell River on Saturday, September 10 at 3pm.
