It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Ann "Rosalee" Hollett (nee Power), May 13, 2018, at North Island Hospital, Comox Valley.

A woman of great inner strength, Rosalee lived with incredible integrity. Throughout her 76 years, she touched the lives of so many. She loved fiercely, and advocated for those she loved. Rosalee had a gift for quietly meeting the needs of those around her, showing up at just the right time with a pot of soup, an item she had lovingly created, or a compassionate ear.

She also had a special ability to connect with individuals with unique challenges, and intuitively saw the best in everyone she met. We all saw Sissy, Paul and Carolyn (Power) blossom with her as their primary guardian. She then went on to support many marginalized individuals through her work with Metro Community Housing, Hand in Hand (St. Vincent de Paul Society), Comox Valley Hospice Society, and many other organizations in Halifax, Pemberton and Comox.

Rosalee was dedicated to her family, her faith, and her friends. She loved deeply and easily, and was easy to love. She found joy in many creative pursuits: gardening, jewelry-making, reading, knitting, crocheting, singing, cooking. She was a wonderful teacher, and could often be found sharing her creative talents with others of all ages. Although gentle in most aspects of her life, Rosalee had a strongly competitive streak when it came to games. She maintained her crown as Scrabble champion to the end! Rosalee also had a mischievous streak. She loved to laugh, and to make others laugh.

Rosalee will be deeply missed by her family and friends. Survived by her daughter Beth Power (Hiorns), Whitby, ON; sons Donald (Zehava) Power, Halifax, NS, Jay (Alayne) Power, Halifax, NS, Colin (Melanie) Power, Comox BC; son-in-law Mike Roger, Mount Currie, BC; grandchildren Randy and Sierra Hiorns, Calen and Chana Roger, Nicole, Daniel, Cameron, Emily, Katelyn, Timothy, Nula and Birgit Power; siblings Glenn (Sandy) Hollett, Halifax, NS, Carol Hollett-Glasgow (Ian Glasgow), Cochrane, AB, Lynne MacLean (Tim Steeves), Halifax, NS; husband Fred Rae, Courtenay, BC.

As well, she is survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, Aunt Bernice Richard, and first husband, Jim Power. Rosalee was predeceased by daughter Catherine Power, parents Fred and Genora, brothers Ross and Earl Hollett, sister Donna Coade.
