The passing of Anna Mailhiot of Comox, BC occurred on August 10, 2012 at Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria. Anna is survived by her daughter Madison of Comox, mother Diane of Comox, her father Andre of Courtenay, brother Derek (Catherine) of Courtenay, brother Dale of Victoria, sister Danyiel (Gilles) of Kingston, Ont., aunt Bernadette of Oak Harbour, Washington, many nieces and nephews, and pets Boo-Boo, Wizzy Lou, and Clue.
Anna survived breast cancer only to be taken too soon by liver failure. She never complained and her spirit was always strong. Anna worked for many years as a devoted Early Childhood Educator at Lighthouse Early Learning Center (formerly Merry Andrew Daycare). Her favourite pastimes were gardening, camping, cooking, watching movies and being a devoted mother. Her love for reading led her to being very passionate about her local library.
A celebration of Anna’s life will be held on Saturday, August 18th at 1:00PM at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, with a gathering to follow after the service.
