Born in Glasgow, immigrated to Canada in 1947 and settled in Victoria with her family. She met a young naval cadet and married Ted in 1958 to embark on a 50 year endurance test as a military wife. She nurtured her children while he served and supported him wherever his appointments took them. Many years in Shearwater, NS, overseas in Belgium and Virginia, Summerside, PEI, Portage La Prairie, Manitoba, Toronto, Ontario, Comox and Victoria, BC. She was there. A 30 year breast cancer survivor she was a long serving member of the Canadian Cancer Society devoting her considerable energy and compassion to counseling others who were afflicted. Anne was a founding member of Hope Afloat Canada the Comox Valley's breast cancer survivors team and helped keep the stroke with her drumming.

Anne was a devout Catholic and knew that when the time came she would be going to a better place. She is there now and leaves to mourn her departure; husband Ted, son Jamie, daughter Karen Hobson (Rob), grandchildren Stephanie, Brodie, Justin and Allison, brother Jim (Gail) and sister Catherine, nephews Jay & Coyne McGhee, Michael Millerchip and grandniece Lucia as well as many friends. She loved them all dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Church on November 26th beginning at 11:00 AM followed by refreshments.
