August 11, 1938 – December 5, 2015
It is with great sadness we acknowledge the passing.
Andy is survived by his wife of 53 years Patricia, daughter Trudy (Bill) and son Wayne Robert (Cindy).
He was born in Point Leamington, Newfoundland into a family of eleven children. He is predeceased by his parents Walter and Violet; sisters Trixie, Tam, Maxine, Virginia and brother Ford.
Andy is survived by sisters Min, Mildred (Jim), Geraldine (Red) and brothers Elmer (Sandra), Fred (Wendy) and many nieces and nephews.
Andy served in the military for 27 years which included two postings to Germany and peacekeeping duty in Cypress. Although he served with many units during his career; PPCLI, 3 Mech CDO, S.A.S., he was loyal to the 2 Q.O.R. of C to the end.
While serving at the base in Comox, he worked at the base arena for 29 years before retiring as manager.
Although Andy enjoyed many things in his down time, his big love was the outdoors and fishing with his buddies.
He always said he wasn’t going to anybody’s funeral, not even his own, so there will be no service at his request. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in the name to the St. Joseph’s Hospital Foundation in Comox.
