Archie M. Welsh, aged 89 years, passed away Friday, June 20, 2003 in St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox.
Archie is survived by his loving wife, Saxon of 66 years; 3 daughters: Sharon (Stanford) Shutes, of Kamuela, Hawaii, Jane (Robert) Howland, Sooke, B.C., Nancy (Lars) Larsen, Courtenay, B.C.; 3 grandchildren: Andrew, Christina and Cheryl; 1 great granddaughter, Brittany. Archie and his business partner Sid Williams purchased Searles Shoes in 1951, and he managed the company until his retirement in 1963. He was also a member of the Comox Golf Club (past president), The Masonic Order, B.P.O.E. (past Exalted Ruler) and a founding member of Boot Lake Inc.
No service by request. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations may be made in Archie’s name to St. Joseph’s General Hospital Foundation, 2137 Comox Avenue, Comox, B.C. V9M 1P2 or to the charity of one’s choice.
