Arthur Wesner, 85, of Cumberland passed away peacefully at home on March 12, 2018.
Art was born June 6, 1932 in Androssen Alberta to Edward and Olga Wesner. Art worked for Comox Logging which later became known as Crown Zellerbach until 1969. Art then spent the remainder of his working career as head of the maintenance department at Cumberland Hospital where he retired after 25 yrs.
Art enjoyed spending time with people, you could always find him among friends at the pool hall, bowling alley, horseshoe pits, or "UP THE LAKE." His love for people was also reflected in his involvement with the Kinsmen Club. A true outdoorsman and sports fanatic, Arthur loved the comfort of a campfire just as much as the cold bleacher at a hockey rink- he spent many years watching his grandsons play, never missing a game.
Arthur was always the one to lend a helping hand and leave you with a joke .......... he will be missed, but forever in our hearts.
Arthur is predeceased by his parents, spouse (Jessie Sommerville), brother (Eric) and sister (Adeline Adamschek).
Art is survived by his partner of 20 yrs Minnie Frame and extended family, sons; Ken (Deb) and Lorne, daughter Judy; 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
