SENIOR, Barbara Joan
Barbara Joan Senior passed away peacefully in Calgary, Alberta on September 29, 2006 at the age of 85 years. Barbara is lovingly remembered by her children: Michael and Maureen (Murray Rauw); grandchildren: Jeffrey, Cathryn, Joshua and Cayley. She is also survived by her sister Audrey Frohlich.
Barbara was born and raised in Sutton Coldfield, England. At the age of sixteen she met her future husband, Victor, and the two were married in 1939. After the war, in 1947, they immigrated to Canada. Following her husband’s career as a veterinarian, the family moved from living in Melville, Saskatchewan, to Tauranga, New Zealand and then to Regina, Saskatchewan enjoying family and friends along the way. In retirement, Barbara and Victor resided in Comox, British Columbia where they spent their time fishing and gardening together. In 1995, Victor passed away and in 1997 Barbara relocated to Calgary to be closer to her family.
The family is grateful for the gentle care and compassion shown to Barbara in her last 4 years at the Father Lacombe Nursing Home.
A Memorial Service will be held at Deer Park United Church: 77 Deerpoint Road SE, Calgary, Alberta.
