Bernhard Brisch

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernhard Johann Brisch. He was born in Riel Mosel, Germany on May 28, 1928.

He was predeceased by his younger brother, George and his grandson, Larry. He leaves to mourn his loving wife of 64 years, Loni; daughters: Erika (Larry), Vera (Wally), Ilona (Tim) and son, Bernie (Sharon); grandchildren: Stacey, Amy, Daniel, Jessica, Alisha, Shawn and Chelsea; great-grandchildren: Shayla, Haley, Caitlyn and Bill. He is also survived by his special little dog and best friend, Ben.

In 1956, Bernie and his young wife and baby in tow, left Germany to start a better way of life for his family. They moved to the Mining Industry in Yellowknife, NWT, where he worked at the giant mine for eleven years and met many great and loyal friends.

In 1966, they relocated to the Comox Valley, following and being followed by the same group of friends and working at the Westmin mine for 28 years and then retiring in 1993. Bernie was known for his great sense of humor and his practical jokes but most remembered as a loving, caring husband, father, Opa and loyal friend.

There will be no service at his request.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Bank, Hospice Society or to the charity of you choice.
