Betty passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord at the Comox Valley Seniors Village on
Tuesday, June 19, 2018. Betty was born in Revelstoke, BC on August 20, 1923. It was there that she met her future husband, Bill, as their parents were close friends. Over the years their lives took different paths but the two families stayed in touch. Twenty-four years later, Bill and Betty were married in Osoyoos, BC on June 24, 1947. Together they celebrated almost 71 years of a beautiful marriage.
Besides being a loving wife to Bill and devoted mother to four children, Betty loved music and was a member of the North Island Registered Music Teachers' Association. She taught piano to many students in the Courtenay and Campbell River area for a number of years. Her life was an example, to all who knew her, of how to put her strong Christian faith into practice and many were touched by her caring and acts of kindness. She will be deeply missed by her family and the many she thought of as her "church family."
Betty was predeceased by her eldest son, Brock, in 2012. She is survived by her loving husband, Bill; her son John (Jane); daughters Dawn (Gil) and Heather (Will); daughter-in-law Charlotte; 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
