Of Union Bay passed away at St. Joseph’s Extended Care Unit on September 17, 2006.

Predeceased by her parents Eileen and Andy Flawse and her husband Mike Etherington. She is survived and will be lovingly missed by her son Kerry (Diane) Etherington of Union Bay; grandchildren: Nicole Etherington of Courtenay, Krystal Etherington of Union Bay and their mother Anne Etherington of Courtenay. She is also survived by her brother Allan (Barb) Flawse of Union Bay; nephews: Randy (Lois) Flawse of Royston, Doug (Claudette) Flawse of Royston, Doug (Debbie) Etherington of Courtenay. Beverley also leaves behind many other nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, extended family of stepchildren, step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Beverley was born at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Comox and lived 11 years at Camp 3, moved to Ladysmith for 3 years. The family then moved to Fanny Bay where they owned and operated the Stop & Shop Grocery Store where Bev worked and helped out with brother Allan. Bev then met Mike Etherington, were married and moved to Denman Island. They soon had their only son Kerry and made the last move to Union Bay where she has called home for the past 60 years.

A special thank-you to those at the Cumberland Health Centre who cared for Bev during her stay. Words can not express our gratitude for the love and attention she received during her long stay at St. Joseph’s Extended Care.

Following Beverley’s wishes Cremation has taken place and a private family memorial will be held at a later date.
