DESJARDINE, Blain Joseph

April 6, 1959 ~ February 6, 2010

It is with deepest sympathy that Blaine was admitted to the ICU at Edmonton University Hospital. After a very short two week battle he went to sleep for the last time.

Blaine touched everyone he met. He will leave a mark on their lives that will endure. We all have good memories that make us each smile and know we were blessed to know this man. In turn we know that Blaine is smiling down on us. Blaine was born April 6th, 1959 in Saskatoon and was a union steamfitter for nearly 30 years, Local 324. He worked across Canada and enriched the lives he touched most especially his wife Avril and son Jacob to whom he was a proud and loving father. Blaine is also survived by two sisters, two brothers, nieces and nephews.

He enjoyed skiing in the winter, and golfing in the summer; motor bikes and sailing with an appreciation for The warmer climates. In his life he owned and operated a Robin's Donuts in Calgary; ran for MLA, and sold water softeners on Vancouver Island. He will be sadly missed by all of his friends and family.

So we invite you who knew him to a Celebration of His Life, Piercy's-Mt Washington Funeral HOme, 440 England Avenue, Courtenay, BC V9N 2N1 1-250-334-4464 at 1pm Saturday February 20th.

Anyone who can not make it or find out too late, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Big Brothers or Sisters, as Blaine cared deeply about children.
