At home on Monday, September 11, 2006, Carl John Henry Smith of Kensington, PEI, aged 86 years. Veteran of World War II. Son of the late Merton & Mary Jane (Armstrong) Smith. Husband of Ena (Parsons) Smith and the late Jacqueline (MacLarty) Smith. Father of Janine (Blair) Maltby, Riverview, NB; Bruce (Clare) Smith, Medicine Hat, AB; Carol (David) Auterson, Courtenay, BC; Merton (Sylvia) Smith, Kelvin Grove, PEI, and Gary Smith, Courtenay, BC. Grandfather of 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Stepfather of Marilyn (Sydney) Corbin, New Minas, NS; Donnie Stephens, Moose Jaw, Sask.; Brenda (Glen) Hindley, Port Stanley, ON; Greg (Debbie), Sussex, NB; Barry (Nancy), Sussex, NB and Gary, Charlottetown, PEI. Also survived by his sister-in-law Bea Smith, Cardinal, ON, as well as several nieces. Predeceased by his brothers Ron, Basil and Myron Smith and his stepson Bruce Stephens. Resting at the Davison Funeral Home Kensington for visitation on Wednesday evening from 7-9pm Comrades of Branch #9 Royal Canadian Legion Kensington will hold a Service of Remembrance at the funeral home Wednesday evening at 6:30 pm.
No funeral service by personal request. Interment in St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery, Spring Brook, PEI. If so desired contributions may be made to the St. Thomas Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, Spring Brook or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
