It is with great sadness that the family of Carol Fehr announces her passing on a beautiful Sunday morning, March 17, 2019 at the age of 77 years.
Forever remembered by her loving husband and best friend of 57 years, Henry Fehr and their three children: Robert Fehr, Connie Penner and Shelley (Rick) Riley. She will also be fondly remembered by her two grandchildren: Steven Penner and Kevin (Alyssa) Penner and two great grandchildren: Liam and Myles. Carol is survived by her brothers and sisters with their spouses: Leonard (Tena) Baun, Janet (Jack) Holben, Deanna (Al) Watt, Ken (Shirley) Baun, sister-in-law Margaret Baun and numerous nephews and nieces. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Simon Penner, her parents Alex and Leah Baun, brother Lorne Baun, sister and brother-in-law Grace and George Siemens.
Carol had a strong faith in God and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a remarkably kind, strong and caring woman. She had a generous heart and found joy in helping others. Her family was her life and she would always put others in front of herself. Among many other interests, Mom had a true passion for cooking and worked in numerous restaurants over a period of 25+ years. Preparing grand meals and hosting gave her a lot of joy. She will forever be remembered as an amazing cook.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of the North Island Hospital, Comox Valley for their exceptional care.
A small gathering of family and friends in celebration of her life will take place on Friday, May 10th at 1pm at Comox Valley Funeral Home, Cremation and Reception Centre, 1101 Ryan Road, Courtenay, with a reception to follow in the garden room of the funeral home.
