Catharine “Lynne” Gileo

March 8, 1939 – July 25, 2019
Catharine ‘Lynne’ Gileo born March 8, 1939 in Scarborough, Ontario passed away with family and friends at her side after a mercifully short battle with cancer on July 25, 2019.
Pre-deceased by her first husband John Heise (December 22, 2001) Lynne is survived by her current husband Bill Gileo and loving daughter Christine Quaintance.
Lynne retired and moved to Courtenay in January 2005 where she married Bill. Lynne was a kind, open-hearted and creative woman who always had a smile and a friendly ‘Hello’ for those who crossed her path. If you gave her a needle and thread or yarn she would make something beautiful. Whether it was a quilt, a blanket, wall art, clothes or a ‘baby’s first outfit’ for anyone she knew expecting a newborn. She also made stained glass for her windows and stepping stones for her garden. Lynne loved to go for a drive. “As long as you say ‘road trip’ you can never get lost.” Lynne took up darts in her late 70’s and became quite good at it. She looked forward to Tuesday and Friday nights at RCL Br. 160 Comox where she was a member. She was also a member of the Comox Valley Horticultural Society.
Lynne will be sadly missed by all who knew her, especially her fur babies Honey and Sadie.
A special thank you to Dr. Tanja Daws.
In keeping with Lynne’s wishes there is no public service or memorial
