Catherine Anne Larade

December 5, 1934- September 18, 2021
It is with deep sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Anne Larade in Comox on Saturday September 18, 2021 surrounded by her family.

Anne was born on December 5, 1934 in Alder Point, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, the third eldest child of Genevieve Devoe and George Walker. Anne was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Richard, James Adrian, Gilbert, Leonard and Vincent and her sister Helene. She is survived by her siblings Sr. Joan, Betty, Donnie, Sheldon, Greg, Pius, Carol, Gerard, Kenny, Norma, Vicky, and Gordon.

Anne is survived by her husband Bob of 63 years, her children Denise (Kim Rempel), Cathy (Allison McLellan), Bruce (Vicky Vi), Sharon (Joanne Murrell), Janice (Rob Shaw), and Susie (Pete Gillespie); her grandchildren: Adam, Dania, Emory, Jenn, Jesse, Jonathan, Kennedy, Kim, Mandy, Matthew, Mel, Soren, and Tony; and her great-grandchildren: Audrey, Bree, Chloe, Ethan, Gemma, Henry, Hugo, London, Luula, Madison, Theon, Xavier and Zachary. Anne served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1955-1958 in Summerside, P.E.I, Langar, England and 2(F) Wing France. Anne and Bob wed in Langar in 1958, then lived in France until 1961. They lived in Saskatoon, Gimli, Borden, Summerside, Chatham , Comox, Cold Lake and Dartmouth, retiring to Comox where they have made their home for over thirty years. Anne was an active member of Comox Curves for many years; she enjoyed connecting with friends through the RCAF Airwomen's reunions. Anne's family meant everything to her. She dearly loved the reunions in Cape Breton connecting with her extended family. There was always room at the table for anyone who showed up hungry. For all the years of military postings, Anne made it an adventure for the 6 pack of kids. Anne had a way of putting everyone at ease and welcoming all who entered their home. It's hard to describe the joy on her face spending time with the grandkids and great-grandkids.

The family would like to thank Dr. Neufeld and staff, the staff of Mountainview 2 at The Views at St. Joseph's, for the loving care of Anne this past year. At the request of the family, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Comox Valley Food Bank or a charity of your choice are very much appreciated.
