Born & raised In Prince Rupert, BC "Lorraine" studied classical piano and obtained a Level 8 Royal Conservancy of Music certificate in June 1950. Chosen as Miss Prince Rupert in 1950 Lorraine went on compete at the Miss PNE contest later that year.
Lorraine lived in the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island before residing in the Comox Valley for several decades. She had a passion for music, gardening, baking and animals. She actively volunteered at St. Joseph's Hospital, Anderton Theraputic Gardens, played piano at the Comox United Church, Glacier View, other local care homes.She also volunteered with the St Johns Ambulance Therapy Dog Program with her beloved Sheltie. Lorraine enjoyed celtic music and dancing. Lorraine owned numerous dogs, cats and birds throughout her lifetime. Lorraine regularly baked many delicious treats of all kinds which she generously shared with family and friends.
Lorraine dearly loved her family and is survived by her children from her first marriage to Al Pellegrin: Brad (Cindy), Grant (Shirley) & Cyndy (David), 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, her brothers Syd and Gordon, and sisters Nina and Margaret.
Lorraine was predeceased by the love of her life- 2nd husband Bill Crawford and her siblings Madeline, Annette, Rob and Len.
A private family service will be held at a later date. A special thanks to Joanne & Dave, Sharon & Ron, George & Vicki for their unending acts of kindness to Lorraine over the years.
If roses grow in heaven, Lord pick a bunch for me. Place them in my mothers arms and tell her they're from me.
