Born on December 9, 1937 at Crombie Settlement, New Brunswick, Charlie passed away suddenly on October 14, 2006.? He is survived by his wife Ruth, son Chuck, daughter Joyce (Ray), granddaughters Rya and Erica, six sisters and two brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.?


He is predeceased by his son Wesley, brothers Emery, Donny, and Boyd, and his parents Wellington and Doris (Bell).


He grew up near Plaster Rock, NB at a small settlement called Sisson Ridge.? With his young family he moved across the country to settle in the logging camps of Egmont and then Port Melon on the coast of British Columbia in the late 1960’s.? He later moved to the Comox Valley and eventually settled in Cumberland in 1972 where he has lived for the past 34 years.? Charlie was a champion of those less fortunate and was very generous with his time, home and anything he could spare.? In his later years he loved to putter in his garden and workshop. ?He had an amazing sense of humor and entertained his friends with his stories and wit.? He will be missed.



There will be a time of viewing on Friday, October 20th from 11:00am to 12:30pm at Cumberland United Church on the corner of 1st and Penrith, where the funeral service will be held at 1:00pm with Rev. Ray Brandon officiating with a reception to follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Piercy’s Funeral Home 250-334-4464.
