"Oh! I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings

Claire passed away peacefully at home on December 16, 2018 at the age of 92 leaving to grieve her daughter Lee Ettinger of Sayward Valley and son Randall and wife Peggy of Golden. Also two grandsons (Chris and Sean), two great grandsons and one great granddaughter (Charlie, Parker and Madison) all of Calgary.

Claire served our country during WWII as an Air Traffic Radio Operator and was very proud of her contribution to the war effort. During this time she met and married her pilot husband, Charles Fryer.

Shortly after the war ended Claire became pregnant with her daughter and later her son. She spent 30 years working at various jobs in Calgary and her passions were sewing and singing. When Claire's husband retired, they moved to the Comox Valley in 1980 where Claire continued with her singing passion as a member of the well known group Sweet Adelines and later with the Choir at Berwick.

A family memorial will be held in the summer of 2019 in Golden, B.C. where Charles and Claire will be laid to rest together at the Legion's Field of Honour located in Golden.
