Claire Robinson Oland, aged 98, passed away February 28th, 2020, at the Comox Valley Hospital. Claire was born to Herbert and Winnifred Sinclair of Taber, Alberta on August 18, 1921.
"Nan" was an avid knitter whose baby sweaters and blankets were gifted to family and friends far and wide. She loved horseback riding and did so well into her 70's. She leaves behind two daughters, Karen (John) Edgett and Trudy (David) Cherrille; granddaughters Kendra Brown, Jennifer Turner (John Huson), and Jamie Edgett (Justin Formosa); great-grandchildren Brynlee and Olan Formosa; and sister-in-law Lola Sinclair. Claire was predeceased by her husband John Oland, daughter Barbara Oland, sister Margaret Grieve, and brothers Noel, Mac and Ross Sinclair.
Her family would like to thank Dr. Reggler and the nurses on the 3rd and 4th floors of the CV Hospital. And a special thank you goes out to the Hospice workers for the time they spent with Claire in her final months. At her request, there will be no service.
