Mar 1936-Oct 2020 ~ You were the love of my life and I will miss you forever. You were the best. My social butterfly. My rock of Gibraltar – Addie
Clyde (Lev) was born in Halifax, NS. He was second oldest born to John and Violet Levy. He grew up on Bayers Road along with brothers Don and Wayne, and sister Sandy George. He was predeceased by his parents and both brothers.
Lev is survived by his second wife, Addie, who he shared 49 years of endless happiness, full of love and laughter.
Lev joined the Canadian Military when he was 21 years old and served 34 years as an airframe technician. His first posting was to Marville, France. There he met his first love, Arlene Couldwell. Their first daughter, Carmen, was born in Marville. His next posting was to Comox, BC, where their second daughter Karen was born. Both daughters, grandkids and great grandkids live in California.
In 1972, Lev was stationed in Baden-Soellingen, Germany for six years. There were no phones/TV, so socializing with other military friends was the norm and great friendships were made. Lev, Addie and daughter Cheryl, travelled around Europe at every opportunity. Lev adopted Addie’s daughter, Cheryl, who lives in the Comox Valley along with her kids and grandkids.
Before retirement from the military, Lev took up golfing and became a member of Sunnydale Golf Club. After retiring he golfed with The Rat Pack bunch and golfed with his foursome; Gavin McLean, Collin Hetman and Emil Zapatoczny. Brother-in-law Mike Hooley was also part of The Rat Pack. Many thanks to the kitchen staff for the great food they served. Lev has joined his late golf buddy, Bruce Allen.
Lev passed away from a short battle with cancer.
