IN LOVING MEMORY

BAKKE, Crystal Pearl (Knox)

May 10, 1917 ~ April 21, 2010

It is with a deep sense of loss and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. Crystal was born in Bengough, Sask, and moved to Vancouver with her family in 1948. She and her husband moved to Courtenay in 1993.

Predeceased by her husband Adolph and son Merle. She leaves behind her loving daughters Cheryl and Joyanne; grandchildren: Scott (Tara), Michelle (James), Andolie, Seamus and Larissa; great-grandchildren: Brittni, Carley (Jesse), Brandon, Brielle, Taylor and Braylon; sister Joyce Hrechka and many nieces and nephews.

Crystal was a woman most loving and of the kindest spirit and nature. She was a wonderful homemaker and made the most of every day. She enjoyed a later vocation as sales manager of Rene's Ladies' Apparel in Surrey and was very much an asset with her style and grace. As she had lived her life, she ended it with a gentle passage and has now joined her loved ones on the other side where blue skies and love resides.

"God thought to give the sweetest thing,

In his almighty power,

In fondest joy and loving heart

He moved the gates of heaven apart

And gave to earth our mother"

A graveside service at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Surrey will take place on May 10th at noon followed by a memorial reception. The family gives thanks to the many helpful loving hands at Trillium Lodge in Parksville who took such great care of Crystal.
