MOSSEY, Cythnia Vera

March 2, 1927 - July 17, 2010

On July 17th, 2010, our beloved Mom passed away peacefully at her home in Cumberland, B.C.

She is survived by her 5 children; Don Hardy (Casandra) of Royston, B.C., Cindy Ford (Doug) of Courtenay, B.C., Helene Galt (Richard) of Caroline, A.B., David Bates (Penny) of Red Deer, A.B., Pat Hardy of Red Deer, A.B. and 10 grandchildren; Morgane, Connor, Darcy, Heather, Robyn, Isaiah, T.J., Brent, Macayla, Derek, and 1 great granddaughter, Holly.

Vera was born in Winnipeg, M.B. on March 2, 1927. Though born on the prairies, she spent much of her youth with her grandparents on their small farm in Nanoose Bay, B.C.

Vera's great love was her family, pets and cooking. Raised during the depression, she learned to cook, working for many institutions from restaurants to logging/oil camps, and the Department of National Defence. She gained the reputation of an excellent cook, noted for her pies and "comfort food" cooking.

Though Vera had many happy experiences throughout her life, the happiest times were spent "up the lake" (Comox Lake) during the summer with her family, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Vera's life will be held at a later date in Cumberland, B.C. In lieu of flowers Vera would like donations made to the S.P.C.A.
