BURBRIDGE, Darlene Lois (nee Irwin)
Darlene passed away peacefully at home on April 23, 2010.
She was predeceased by her two infant children; her father, mother and siblings. She was born in Weyburn, Saskatchewan on November 14, 1940.
She moved to Victoria as a young child, grew up and attended Sir James Douglas, Central Jr. and Victoria High Schools.
She is survived by her husband, Brian; daughter Donna McArthur (Stan); grandchildren Leah & Bryden.
She was involved with community events, both at her home in Courtenay and Indio, California. She loved her volunteer work at St. Joseph’s Thrift Shop. She led an active, social, fun loving life; tellng the same laughable jokes, year and year.
Darlene wanted her home care nurses to know how much they brightened her day. She always said “How blessed I am to have such a wonderful family and so many great friends. I’ve been a very lucky lady. Thank you all.”
A Celebration of Life is to be held on Saturday, May 1st, 2010 at The Westerly Hotel, 1590 Cliffe Avenue, Courtenay at 1:00 p.m.
