Spence, David Joseph
David passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Comox, BC. Dave was born in Vancouver on February 22, 1910 and left us peacefully on January 4, 2007 at 96 years of age.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ivy. Two daughters: Nancy and her husband Pat, their children Lana and friend Duncan, Dale and his wife Tsumugi and Allen; Iris and her husband Ralph, their children Brian and wife Sheryl, Jim and wife Kelly, their children Alexa and Douglas. Two sons: Cameron and his wife Jill Marie, their son Rylan; David and his wife Crystal, their children Avery and Kendal. Grandchildren: Lindsey and Christopher Spence. He is also survived by one sister Nancy Murray; niece Linda Obodiak; and nephew Douglas Murray.
Dave was predeceased by two sons: Robert in 1996 and Douglas in 1997.
It was Dave’s wish to have no formal service but to have a wake. We will celebrate his life at the Comox Golf Club on January 11 at 4 pm. All friends welcome. Cremation has taken place and his ashes will be interred with his sons in Banff on February 22, 2007.
Dave’s family wishes to thank the care givers at the E.C.U. Oceanview and 3rd floor St. Joseph’s for their loving care and support over the past few months. We love you all.
