Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Ann and Mike Chomyn. Predeceased by his parents, sister Olga and stepson David.
Left to miss him every day - his wife Eunice, daughter Stacey, son Clayton, stepsons Todd and Craig, 7 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, sister Josie, brothers Pete, Ray, Walt and Cam, sister-in-law Velma and their families.
His trades were many: from chef to tile, marble, and granite installer and renovator. His true gift was friendship. Someone was always nodding in his direction as a casual hello. He made friends everywhere and everyone felt they had met someone special. Everyone was worth his time and a conversation, with few exceptions.
He loved his dogs, and no rescue dog was too old to learn new tricks. When not working, he was fishing or dreaming about fishing.
He faced his diagnosis of pancreatic cancer with dignity, acceptance and peace that came from his deep faith in God. 35 years in AA taught him that "the reward for a living a good life is a good life".
The family is grateful for the compassionate kindness of Dr Reggler and the staff of Comox Hospice.
