In Loving Memory ~
Our family is very sad to announce the death of our very loved, David Feely from G.B.M. (brain tumor) on Jan. 16th, at the Hospice Unit in Comox.
He leaves behind his daughter Zoey, his son Fenn, his mother Roberta Feely, sisters Jane Feely, and Helen Jolliffe (Forrest). He was predeceased by an infant son, Brendan David, and David's father, Thomas William Feely.
Sports were his main love in life, and he tried a good many. Skiing, was number one, starting at about 3 years old with the whole family. Soccer, baseball, rugby, golf, and of course swimming. David was never still, and his Dad thought he should have a paper route, and with big money in his pocket he could set the world on fire.
After graduation, he thought, that a bit of travel would be fun, so he took off for Central America, where he soon found out that Canada truly was the land of milk and honey. He then had several odd jobs, but the travel bug hit again, and with a friend took off for Britain, France, Spain, and further south. The money soon ran out and he was home again, and joined Feely Tank Truck Service to drive truck, and help Dad. He went on from there to get two logging trucks, and work in the north. Monkey wrenching was not a talent of his and he came home again.
Many thanks to a great friend that talked him into going for his degree in nursing. After many years of upgrades, he did graduate from N.I.C. as a Registered Nurse. We were so proud. His first and only posting was in Haida Gwaii, at the Queen Charlotte City Hospital, where he met and worked with wonderful people, and he was happy at last in new occupation.
In January of 2021 he was diagnosed with a brain tumor, was shipped to Vancouver General Hospital, underwent surgery, radiation, and chemo treatment. It was a long year filled with many ups and downs. David was home with Mom, had visits from many old school chums, reconnected with many cousins, and old friends. It was value filled time for everyone, and the prayers from so many people far and wide were truly felt by us all, and David did die in peace. I do know that our Lord Jesus Christ has joined David and his Dad together at last.
The family wishes to thank the medical staff involved with David's care, and well-being.
