It is with sadness we announce the passing of our mother, Delores who passed away in her home in Cumberland on October 23rd. She was born on July 21st, 1934 in Regina, Saskatchewan.
Delores came to the Comox Valley in 1958 where she raised her family. Delores enjoyed golf, reading, playing cards, dancing and spending time with her granddaughters.
Delores moved to Cumberland in 2003, after the passing of husband Paul, to be close to her granddaughters. She met her partner, Don VanHumbeck in 2009 and they enjoyed traveling south in the winter, walking many miles together and playing cards with the seniors. The family would like to thank all the wonderful Community Homecare workers who cared for Delores these last few months.
Delores is predeceased by Paul (husband) in 2001 and Don (partner) in 2019.
Delores is survived and will be missed by Anthony Hermes, Phillip Vallee, Marni Rye (Dennis) granddaughters, Jessica Rye (Matthew) and Denise DeRycke (Colton)
There will be no service by request and donations to the charity of your choice in Delores' name would be appreciated.
