Apr 12, 1949 - Feb 15, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Denis on February 15th, 2018 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.

He left peacefully, surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in St-Gerard, QC on April 12th, 1949. He grew up in Quebec until the age of eight, when his father transferred to the Comox Valley with the Canadian Forces.

In 1971, he met his "darling" wife Gloria and her daughter Jennifer in Edmonton and together they moved to the Comox Valley. In 1974 Denis established D.S.J. Electric Ltd. and worked as a contractor and developer. Denis had a passion for his work right up until his recent passing. Together they had built several houses before settling down in Union Bay in 1980.

Denis was an avid hunter and enjoyed his annual hunting trip to Tulameen with his best buddies-when he wasn't at home watching the Canucks play. He held a supportive role in the community of Union Bay and was always happy to lend a hand. He was a loving Husband, Father and Papa, who always put his family first. He will forever be known for his generosity, his love for The Beatles and Bryan Adams, and of course his outrageous sense of humour.

Denis is survived by his wife of 46 years, Gloria, his three daughters, Jennifer (Scott), Stacey (D'Arcy), Alexis (Marcial) and his seven grandchildren, Christopher, Scott, Katelyn, Rielly, Chantelle, Braiden and Tristan.

Denis is predeceased by his parents Albert and Florence Royer, his siblings Gilles, Pauline and Ludger.

His remaining siblings include Andy, Suzanne (Don), Lucie (Chester), Jacquie (Marcel), Gerry (Sandy), Guy, Laurent, brother-in-law Roy, as well as several nieces and nephews.

The Celebration of Life for Denis will be held on Sunday February 25th, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Union Bay Hall, 5401 Island Highway, Union Bay, BC.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada in Denis' name.
