December 15, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Dennis Nyhof at his home in Courtenay, BC on Sunday, December 15, 2019. Dennis was in his 71st year.
Beloved husband and best friend to Elizabeth Nyhof (Brown) and loving father to Krista Nyhof (Rick Courser) and Keith (Amy) Nyhof.
He was the proud grandfather to Brooklyn Nyhof, Jacob Brown, Elin Nyhof, Anders Nyhof, Amanda Stokes, Abi Courser, and Simon Courser, and great-grandfather to Maizey Beljanski, and Maddyn Beljanski. Dear brother to Bev Perry and Wayne (Joan) Nyhof and brother-in-law of Catherine Ashley, Duncan Brown and Irene Brown.
He was the son of the late Gerrit and Gladys Nyhof of Lethbridge, predeceased by his brother-in-laws Guy Perry and Sandy Brown. Fondly remembered by his many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and the many lifetime friends he made along the way.
Dennis alongside his beloved Elizabeth had a wonderful 47 year adventure together in which they experienced living in Calgary, Bermuda, Lethbridge, Grand Forks, Victoria, and Courtenay. During their adventure, Dennis touched many lives directly with his kindness, wisdom, and passion for young people to live meaningful lives.
Building meaningful places for the communities in which he lived was very important to him. He also liked watching a good hockey game, listening to a good tune, camping in the great outdoors, playing cribbage, and celebrating special events with family and friends.
Dennis was above all a family man that gave everything of himself. He was so proud of all his children, grand children and most recently great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be planned for the spring of 2020 in either Victoria or Courtenay, BC. If you are interested in being added to the invitation list please email email@example.com by January 15, 2020. For those who wish, memorial donations in memory of Dennis may be made directly to Young Life of Canada.
