MURRAY, Donald Angus Grant
"Don” was born February 22, 1927 in Toronto, Ontario to the late Hugh and Dorothy Murray. He died peacefully on Sunday morning, June 27, 2010 in Comox, BC surrounded by family. Much loved husband for 27 years of Hanna Murray (nee Tiep), father of Ian Grant Murray and Frances (Nanaimo, BC) and Andrew Fraser Murray and Cheryl (Uxbridge, ON). Loving Grandpa to Kyla, Taylor, Brendan, Gavin and Claire. He is survived by his sister Jane Wright (Collingwood, ON) and nieces Ellen, Leah-Ann, Marsha and nephew Ken and their respective spouses and children.
He enjoyed his lengthy career as an international money markets bond trader and his years of retirement spent between Punta Gorda, Florida, Alliston, Ontario and Comox, BC where they settled in 2006. Those who knew him will recall his love of golf and especially the 19th hole. He was a proud reserve officer with the 48th Highlanders and was actively involved in politics for many years including service for a term as President of the Toronto and District Liberal Riding Association.
As per Don's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service is planned for later in the year when he is to be interred at the family plot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Toronto.
