It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Donald Spurgeon McCulloch January 20, 2019 at the age of 88.

Don was member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. His many travels included Germany, Italy, France, Africa, Australia, Hawaii, San Diego, California.

Don was stationed in Langar, England where he met the love of his life Jean from Nottingham. They had 2 children; Grant and Donna. They journeyed back to Canada, to Prince Edward Island where their second son Daniel was born. Don had a passion for boating and loved being on the water, Comox was his paradise, where he later retired.

Don loved hockey and played goal throughout his military career and later played with the Old Timers Hockey League.

He was a man of many talents and skills. Heavy duty mechanic and worked for Tahis in Gold River upon retiring from the military. He was also a marine mechanic and passed his talents and love for the water to his sons.

Don loved talking with people and sharing stories. All who knew him often commented on what great stories he shared with family and friends from Comox to Edmonton.

His greatest joy was spending time with his family and the times we were all together.

Don greeted every morning with "Thank you Lord for another beautiful day"

He was an outstanding man, father and friend. Don is survived by his loving wife Jean, and will be sadly and forever missed by sons; Grant (Ontario), Daniel (Comox) and daughter Donna (Edmonton, AB). Five grandchildren; Susan, Alyssha, Eric, Jacob, and Douglas, 2 great grandchildren; Vanessa and Avery.

There will be a Celebration of Don's Life on February 3, 2019 at 1 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Comox. Light lunch to follow.
