December 23, 1931 - January 22, 2021
Mom passed away peacefully on January 22, 2021. Her magical spirit that left a smile on everyone's face will greatly be missed by all those who knew her.
Born in Berlin, Germany, with her architectural drafting certification and an adventurous heart, she chose to leave for Canada.
Arriving in Toronto she travelled the country, spending time in Ocean Falls, where she learned how to ski. Eventually, she settled at Miracle Beach with her husband and there raised their three children.
Mom had a passion for the outdoors, loving to swim, hike, bike and kayak, taking some of these sport activities to competitive levels. She competed in table tennis, swimming and the BC senior games. One of her favorites was participating in the Snow to Surf with friends.
Mom's other love was for music. She was a member of the Comox Valley Concert Band, Strathcona Symphony Orchestra and other smaller groups.
She will be sadly missed, and will always be in our hearts. She is survived by daughter Karin (Gavin), son Rolf (Veronica) and grandson Blake (Maddie) and daughter Monica.
A special thank you to all the staff at Comox Valley Seniors Village for all their caregiving, kindness and warmth. We would also like to thank Dr Swanson for his very caring efforts.
