Doreen Joan
1932 - 2003
Aged 70 of Courtenay passed away at St. Joseph’s Hospital on Friday, June 6, 2003 after a long, hard fought battle with cancer. She is predeceased by her father Francis, mother Doreen and sister Dolly. She is survived by former husband David, son Michael (Marie), daughter Cheryl (Chris) and grandchildren Catherine, Spencer and Shane.
Joan was born in Vancouver in 1932, later moving to Victoria where she spent her childhood years and received her schooling. After serving with the Airforce she moved to the Comox Valley where she raised her family and worked with the Comox Valley Homemakers for 18 years. She was an active member of the Four Square Church and especially loved to spend time with her beloved grandchildren. A celebration of her life will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, June 10, at the Courtenay Four Square Church, 1640 Burgess Road.
