November 11, 1938 - May 21, 2022
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Dorothy Evelyn Mae Brown, of Comox, on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the age of 83 years. Dorothy was born in Vancouver in 1938, and eventually would move onto Vancouver Island.
For many years, she served as a Senior First Aid Attendant for M&B Logging in Port McNeil and Utah mines in Port Hardy. After that, Dorothy moved down island to the Comox Valley. There she owned and ran her very own, very successful flower shop out of Comox, Comox Flower Pot, for over 20 years.
Dorothy got along with everyone she met. She was a very witty and intelligent lady, making it easy for her to make new friends and colleagues.
When Dorothy wasn't tending to her business, she truly loved to read and travel.
Dorothy is predeceased by her mother and father, Ena and Len Warner. She is very lovingly missed by her dear husband, Larry Brown; her adopted son, Michael (Alannah) Boisse; her sister-in-law, Cam Pratt; her brother-in-law, David Brown; her nieces and nephews, Tammy Brown, Sherry Brown, Michelle (Bob) Swetlikoe, Les (Diana) Boomer, Jim (Annette) Boomer, Mark (MJ) Boomer, Chris (Breanna) Boomer, as well as many great nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at the North Island Hospital - Comox Valley, for the wonderful care they gave Dorothy during her time there.
